The Data Model is a crucial piece of design for the target architecture.
Our SPUD Data Model has matured over many years as the result of successful implementations in a wide range of financial organisations. It has clear policies for data usage and audit and has a consistent design in all areas which makes it popular with end-users and developers.
The business scope of the SPUD schema includes current and historic views of:
- Transfer Agency for retail, institutional, pension fund and multi-manager dealings and holdings, together with all associated data for clients, intermediaries, nominees and trustees.
- Investment accounting for unitised or segregated funds including soft and verified trades, holdings and balances, fund values/NAVs, prices, FX rates, income and entitlements, cash movements, postings, trial balance and unit cost breakdown. Base, local and system currencies are supported.
- General Ledger and related analysis structures.
- Client reporting including investment data, commentary and other information.

The SPUD data model supports current and historic views of the data. All changes are audited and recorded so that accurate analysis can be done on a current or historic basis. Period against period analysis is fully supported.
